The earliest Bronze Age inhabitants of Otford left evidence of their lives high on Otford Mount; the excavated Romano-British cemetery reveals the harshness of life for the inhabitants during the Roman occupation: the world of the Tudors still lies beneath the remains of the Archbishops Palace. Meanwhile in Church Field, a great Roman villa is steadily being unearthed. Otford is generously endowed in archaeological discoveries.
